Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here πŸ™‚

Thank you for the warm welcome πŸ™‚ Unfortunately I can't access the options you mentioned due to my postcode. But happy to have the opportunity with phoning the Counsellers.

Hi @Jennifer3

If you scroll up from this comment your post is above. If you are looking for it from the main forum page. Go to lived  experience the Welcome! Introduce yourself here πŸ™‚  thread. It’ll be on the last page.

Hope that helps a little

That's okay @Jennifer3 regarding the guided service. We are still rolling out this service. It will soon be available in more areas. You can keep an eye out.

And yes, you can certainly phone our beautiful counsellors. They are so incredibly lovely to speak to. Once again, their number is 1800 187 263. They will be available M-F.

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here πŸ™‚

Hi guys,

Hope you all had a great Xmas and New Years… I joined up over a year ago and this is my first post… I was diagnosed with Complex PTSD and with overlapping Cluster B Personality Disorders… Borderline, narcissistic, antisocial and histrionic about 7 years ago… I had a psychologist for 5 years until I reached a point where I felt that he couldn’t help me anymore and tried to find someone who specialises in Personality Disorders… For two years I have been constantly rejected by psychologists who simply didn’t want to deal with people with this type of diagnosis and the stigma that comes with it… Also with the onset on covid and the many people accessing Mental Health Care Plans psychologists were hard to come by even some having a 6 month waiting list… And with that came an increase in billing to $260 per session when I was usually bulk billed… So I started doing my own research which lead me to sane.org… I’m trying to get onto the DSP so I could actually afford to see a specialist but I’m not having any luck at all… And I’m considering going to a DSP activist to help with my 2nd application… I suppose I’m making this post because I feel like I’m running out of options and am looking for any suggestions as to how to manoeuvre in this current environment…

Thank you all for your time… Regards…

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here πŸ™‚

Hi all,

New here.  I’ve decided to give this a go and hoping to feel a bit more connected. I’ve been diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder - this has been very hard to accept and I’ve found it hard to find information that I relate to and it’s been a fairly isolating journey. But here I am, still getting on with it. Looking forward to working out how to navigate these forums. Appreciate any direction in how to best work this.

Outside of the mental health stuff, I enjoy painting, drawing and really everything creative.

Hey @JCT Welcome! I hope you will find this to be a supportive community. Just use the @ symbol to tag people you reply to so they get a notification. You can search for any topic using the search bar at the top and all of the threads associated with that topic will come up. You can also use the tag buttons at the bottom of the page for similar.

You're not alone, there are a lot of people here who can relate to your experience. Welcome πŸ˜Š

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here πŸ™‚

Hello, I’m new here. I guess I’ve been feeling really down and I want to talk to people that understand me. I haven’t been diagnosed with anxiety however I have been feeling anxious for a while now and find it hard to talk to people. I’m not a very confident person, but my confidence has dropped dramatically.

I’m starting to care more about what people think of me and I suppose I have a fear of getting judged. A lot of people stare at me which has lowered my confidence. I don’t like myself as it is. I also feel alone sometimes and find it so hard to talk to people so this is a really big step for me because I’m really shy.

This is a really brief introduction but I’m really happy to be here!

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here πŸ™‚

Hey @TK23 Welcome! It's difficult to reach out, I get that! Thank you for being here. How are you doing? Wondering what sort of supports you have in place at the moment? I too struggle with confidence at times so I understand what this is like. It's something I have to work on all the time and it isn't easy πŸ’
