Re: Wait what did I come into this thread for again? Oh yeah, ADHD!

Sorry @ArraDreaming do you want me to not tag you in the ADHD posts?

@Jynx @ArraDreaming @ElevatedEyeSpic @greenspace @tyme

ADHD Commandments - it’s funny because it’s true.

 I implemented the “no empty hands” rule in my son’s house.

Three generations of ADHD people in one 2-story house. It had to be done.

Re: Wait what did I come into this thread for again? Oh yeah, ADHD!

@Glisten "No empty hands" - is that to say that you can't leave a room with empty hands, i.e. clean up things as you go kinda thing? Or is it something else?

Re: Wait what did I come into this thread for again? Oh yeah, ADHD!

@Jynx sorry about earlier
@Glisten
I like the no empty hands thing
or “don’t put it down, put it away”
constantly runs on repeat in my head

Re: Wait what did I come into this thread for again? Oh yeah, ADHD!

@ArraDreaming  You made a mindful reminder for yourself. That is awesome. Fist pump 🤜🏼🤛🏼

Re: Wait what did I come into this thread for again? Oh yeah, ADHD!

@Jynx 😁

All of them

#3  ask wife 🤣😂🤣😂

Re: Wait what did I come into this thread for again? Oh yeah, ADHD!

@Jynx  That is exactly what “No Empty Hands” rule is. Don’t leave the room with empty hands.

Spacial awareness, task-based mindfulness.

Re: Wait what did I come into this thread for again? Oh yeah, ADHD!

Amazing @Glisten I love it! Gotta write it down on like 10 post it notes now and put them all over my house to help me build a new habit ahaha.

No worries @ArraDreaming it's all g. I love that you have a little mantra to help you remember! Maybe I'll make a little song. Good for remembering, and singing is good for the soul (and bonus, soothes the vagus nerve which is associated with our stress response, so physically good for the body too hehe).

@Shaz51 hahaha you are the calendar 😋

Re: Wait what did I come into this thread for again? Oh yeah, ADHD!

I was thinking about adhd earlier
and how I struggle in unstructured environments, I get lost and don’t know what I’m meant to be doing even if you give me a rough outline, but on the contrary also find it hard to accept demands/requeste and find following some directions really hard -
I’m wondering if anyone else in this similar boat?
im mostly talking about the workplace
It’s almost like I need a middle ground.
