@tyme Good fantasy sci-fi. Marvel comics are better than DC because Marvel has humour and DC is very dark.
Dune - the latest series.
Foundation
Umbrella Academy
Doom Patrol
Invasion
Silo
The Boys - hilarious
All the Star Treks and Star Wars

@Glisten do you watch horror at all? I sometimes find horror cathartic, or it externalises my emotions which helps me cope...
The Haunting of Hill House is so well made, but avoid it if you don't like ghost stories, or watching a fictional family struggle with living in a house full of hostile spirits, or stories about grief, trauma, and addiction...
The Fall of the House of Usher (also a Mike Flanagan series), which I haven't finished watching, but it's creepy, gory, has some great characters, and some well-deserved deaths
I don't know if Russian Doll would be categorised as fantasy/science fiction, but it's wonderful and weird (not horror, but has quite a few deaths)
what about fantasy series with teenaged central characters? School Spirits (ghosts & murder mystery), First K!l (vampires & vampire hunters, interesting lore)
Station Eleven is tagged as science fiction, and is set in a post-apocalyptic future, but to me it shows its literary roots (not necessarily a bad thing, but I think the world-building is more about metaphors than about how things might actually work)

@ArraDreaming some strategies I use for mental/emotional overload and sensory overwhelm -- going to bed (if I'm at home), even for 10 minutes, can help a lot. I just take off my shoes, get into bed in my day clothes, and lie under the doona with my eyes closed, hugging my plush toy dragon.
If I can't go to bed, closing my eyes and focusing on my breath.
Listening to brown noise (like white noise, but a lower pitch) -- there are some good videos on YouTube that have just hours and hours of brown noise (also called pink noise). I can listen to that even while I'm doing tasks and it helps me feel less overwhelmed.
depending what is causing the sensory overload, splashing my face with cold water, or holding a cold pack. turning lights down or off. getting away from any strong scents.

For me Horror is too predictable. I can understand you using it as an outlet for emotional frustration. We all feel a little bit grrr occasionally.
The closest I get to teenage fantasy is Percy Jackson.
A banana tree root system looks a lot like a human head … enough about root systems…

Finds of Senate inquiry into ADHD found cost, location, cultural and gendered barriers to access along with different prescribing rules in every state and territory are seeing some wait years for help.
The recommendation has called for a national consistency in diagnosis and treatment to improve the lives of those with the condition.

Hello ADHD peoples
Below is the link to ADHD WA
It’s ok. Posts helpful advice. I, personally, would like to see this organisation advocate or lobby private health insurance providers to have psychiatrist appointments and medication added to their list of claims.
