Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here πŸ™‚

Hey there!

Apparently I can't tell you guys my real name, so the name I have chosen to call myself on here is Evie! I think it's such a sweet name.

I have had a traumatised upbringing with alot of Domestic Violence.

I have been diagnosed with C-PTSD, Anxiety, depression, and last but not least, BPD.

My life is a real struggle. I am wanting to find like minded people along my life journey.

I am also a believer in Jesus Christ.

Nice to meet you all! 😊

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here πŸ™‚

Hi @Belinda2

I just wanted to reach out to welcome you to the forums - it’s great to have you here πŸ’œ

Sometimes it can be really difficult to know where to begin - especially when we’re feeling overwhelmed and there’s so much going on for us πŸ’œ As such, I just wanted to say that I think that you’ve done a wonderful job of reaching out and sharing some of your experiences with us πŸ˜Š

I’m so sorry to hear that you’re living with so much trauma and just from what you’ve described, sitting on the sidelines and struggling to actively participate in life sounds incredibly painful and distressing πŸ’œ

In my experience, maintaining friendships and relationships can be incredibly challenging at the best of times, but even more so when we’re wrestling with so many other complex issues πŸ’œ

My heart went out to you when you shared how you’ve been pushing everyone away and I’m so sorry to hear that this is something that you’re currently struggling with πŸ’œ

As I listened to some of the things that you’ve shared with us, I ever so gently wondered if there was anything in particular that would be helpful for you at this time? For example, some members of our community enjoy participating in some of our more light hearted threads, whereas other people find it really helpful to participate in conversations that focus on some of the issues that are important to them.

Also, just while I remember, one of the things that really helped me when I was new to the forums and still finding my way around, was that if you would like to chat with another forum member, or reply to one of their posts, place @ in front of their username just like I did at the start of my post to you i.e. @Belinda2 that way, they will receive a message that you have contacted them πŸ˜Š

Please know that you’re always welcome to reach out here whenever you need to πŸ’œ

Take kind and gentle care of yourself,

ShiningStar πŸ’œ

Hi @Evie_3

I just wanted to reach out to welcome you to the forums - it’s great to have you here πŸ’œ

I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve had such a traumatised upbringing and it can be incredibly tough when we find ourselves struggling with life πŸ’œ

Our community is full of so many amazing people who really understand what it’s like to live with complex mental health conditions and as such, I have no doubt that you’ll find yourself in wonderful company here πŸ’œ

Thank you so much for sharing some of your beliefs with us πŸ˜Š A few years ago, one of our members created a thread called β€˜Christian Chat’ and as such, I just wondered if this may be something that’s of interest to you πŸ˜Š

I’ve just shared the link to this particular thread below, just in case you would like to take a look and join in some of the conversations:

Re: Dissociative Seizures

Hi I'm Cali - anyone else out there who experiences Dissociative Seizures? I also need a wheelchair periodically as my legs don't always work.  Hoping to find some support here - Facebook and YouTube are a nightmare!

Re: Dissociative Seizures

Hey @CaliRose ,

Welcome to the forums!

It sounds tough not to be able to walk sometimes, especially if it is periodically.

I also hope you will be able to connect with others on the forums. I'll tag a few of our Community Guides who may want to come and say hi.

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here πŸ™‚

Hi @Mooy25

It’s so lovely to hear from you - thank you so much for sharing πŸ’œ

Oh wow! That’s great that you love Pink too! I think that she’s such a talented artist and I absolutely love the YouTube clip to Beautiful Trauma πŸ’œ

One of our Peer Support Workers introduced me to Lizzo last year and so I’m familiar with some of her music now too πŸ˜Š

It wasn’t until I googled Dean Lewis and listened to some of his music on YouTube, that I realised that I’ve heard a few of his songs before - I just didn’t make the connection that he was the artist! The lyrics to How Do I Say Goodbye, are incredibly touching and I think that this song is a really beautiful tribute to his dad πŸ’œ

They’re all just so talented and it’s moments like these that I really wish that I could sing too!

Take care,
