Hi @Ihidaya

Welcome to the forums, it's so great to have you here. I want to say a big thankyou for sharing your story with us. It sounds like you've been through so much.

I'm looking forward to seeing you around.

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here πŸ™‚

Hi my journey with anxiety and depression has been quite overwhelming, being free from this crippling illness for twenty years is currently hard to accept.

I would be so grateful for positive tips and stories from others whom have awoken from this darkness.

Practicing all the wellness strategies to resume my normally healthy lifestyle is a battle.

Trying so hard.🌺

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here πŸ™‚

Thanks for hearing the bit I shared.

Glad to be here

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here πŸ™‚

Hi.

I feel the hardest thing to do is to stop ruminating , its like some one saying you cant do anything about it so dont worry.

Which is true but it is easy for others to say.

If you listen to Echkhart Tolle  he is interesting about ruminating.

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here πŸ™‚

I think This Way Up is the name of an Australian CBT site that is free if you're referred by a health professional and low cost if you're doing it independently... Hope that helps

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here πŸ™‚

Hello, I’m Boa:)

Im currently in an apprenticeship whilst also studying a certificate IV in my felid of work.(ps it’s not easy, but progress is being made)

Ive struggled with my mental health since I was quite young, been to countless psychs wondering what was wrong with me and why no one could help.

Before I got my diagnosis of BPD. I was lost and confused. Knowing what was going on gave me a little peace of mind. However since my diagnosis I’ve tried to help myself and have been failing miserably, but i’ve also struggled to find an affordable way to receive help due to the minimal resources available.

I found SANE tonight whilst scrolling to see if there was anything out there that could help and it seems I’ve found the right place, full of likeminded kind people each dealing with their own issues. I feel slightly less alone πŸ™‚

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here πŸ™‚

Hi everyone!! I am new here today. I love listening to music and playing netball

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here πŸ™‚

I'm not exactly sure where to begin. I really struggle to maintain friendships/relationships. I am confused and always second guessing myself. I have abandonment issues and a lot of trauma stacked on top. I have a hard time keeping track of days and time. I feel like im just a spectator in life and see things from a different perspective than others. I always manage to push everyone away and feel hard done by but then realise it is me who is the problem. ?

Hi @Boa

I just wanted to reach out to welcome you to the forums - it’s great to have you here πŸ’œ

Absolutely! Our community is full of so many amazing people from all different walks of life and as such, you’ll definitely find yourself in great company here πŸ’œ

I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve been struggling with your mental health from such a young age and just from what you’ve described, it sounds as though prior to receiving a diagnosis, you found yourself in an incredibly lonely, scary and confusing place πŸ’œ

I’m so pleased that receiving a diagnosis provided you with a sense of relief and this was definitely something that I found helpful too - as for the first time in such a long time, I was able to understand some of the things that were happening for me.

However, although receiving a diagnosis was really helpful, it was only one part of the puzzle and finding the care and support that I needed proved to be a little bit more of a challenge πŸ’œ

So very sadly, finding affordable help is something that so many of us struggle with and there were definitely days when I wrestled to hold onto any sense of hope that I’d be able to find the resources that I so desperately needed. As such, I just wanted to say that I really admire your determination to continue to search for the care and support that you need and deserve at this time of your life πŸ’œ

As I sat here thinking about some of the things that you’ve shared with us, I wondered if some of the services available through SANE may be helpful for you πŸ’œ

The first service that I wanted to share with you is SANE’s β€˜drop in services.’

Basically, β€˜SANE drop-in services are staffed by qualified team of counsellors and people with lived experience of mental health issues who will provide you with free digital and telehealth support, information and referrals.’

I’ve reached out to this service numerous times and I’ve always had a really positive experience where I felt listened to and really well supported πŸ’œ

I’ve included the link to this particular service below, just in case you would like to explore this further πŸ˜Š

The second service that I thought maybe helpful for you is SANE’s β€˜guided service.’

Essentially, β€˜SANE’s free guided service combines our range of digital and telehealth supports, tailored to the needs of people affected by complex mental health issues.’

I’ve included the link to this particular service below, just in case this is something that’s of interest to you😊

Also, just while I remember, one of the things that really helped me when I was new to the forums and still finding my way around, was that if you would like to chat with another forum member, or reply to one of their posts, place @ in front of their username just like I did at the start of my post to you i.e. @Boa that way, they will receive a message that you have contacted them πŸ˜Š

I really hope that you’ll continue to reach out here for support and please let me know if there’s anything in particular that would be helpful for you and I’ll do my very best to guide you in the right direction πŸ’œ

Take care,

ShiningStar πŸ’œ

Hi @Mooy25

I just wanted to reach out to welcome you to the forums - it’s great to have you here πŸ’œ

Thank you so much for sharing a little bit about yourself πŸ˜Š I think it’s great that you love listening to music and I just wondered if you have a favourite artist or if there’s a specific style of music that you particularly enjoy?

I often gravitate towards music when I’m feeling stressed and overwhelmed and I absolutely love listening to Coldplay, Sia and Pink πŸ’œ

Last year, a few members of our community created a thread titled Everything Music and as such, I just wondered if this is something that may be of interest to you πŸ˜Š

I’ve just shared the link to this particular thread below, just in case you would like to take a look and join in some of the conversations πŸ˜Š
