Hello. I stumbled across the Sane website when using Google, I love Google,.
I'm kinda almost like an avoidant type PTSD trooper because as soon as I recognise a trigger and it causes my PTSD symptoms to come about, I like to 'run away from people" 🥴

Hello,
I'm a 43 year old male.
I have issues with depression, PTSD and anxiety.
Anxiety is a major issue. I spend most of my time at home alone. I get very lonely but have trouble getting out and meeting people.

Hi @RGB ,
Welcome to the forums!
It takes a lot to reach out to an online community. I'm so glad you have because you are certainly not alone when you say you spend most of the time indoors.
I've shared this numerous times, but for me, as a member of these forums a number of years ago, I just these forums to gain the confidence to reach out to people. As I did, I found I became more confident as was able to then transfer these skills to the real world.
I too spent a lot of time at home. I hated going out.
I'm really glad I found these forums to connect with people. I hope you do too.

Hi @calmsoul
I just wanted to reach out to welcome you to the forums - it’s great to have you here 💜
I’m so sorry to hear that you’re living with PTSD and just from what you’ve described it makes so much sense that you ‘run away from people’ when you’re triggered 💜
As I listened to you, I got the sense that perhaps there are times when you feel quite alone and I just wondered if you have anyone in your life who understands some of the challenges that you’re currently living with?
Absolutely! Google is amazing and I often wonder how we managed without it 😊 I really love how there’s a whole world at your fingertips and I can spend hours just browsing through different websites! As such, I just wondered if there’s anything in particular that you like to google?
Also, just while I remember, one of the things that really helped me when I was new to the forums and still finding my way around, was that if you would like to chat with another forum member, or reply to one of their posts, place @ in front of their username just like I did at the start of my post to you i.e. @calmsoul that way, they will receive a message that you have contacted them 😊
I really hope that you’ll continue to reach out to us here and I look forward to seeing you around the forums 😊
Take care,
ShiningStar 💜

Hi all, I'm a mum of two and going through a tough time. I'm constantly feeling depressed and suicidal. I'm not sleeping due to perimenopause symptoms and feeling very unsupported from my GP who seems to brush it off. My mum passed away in 2021 and I miss her terribly. I feel so isolated and lonely. I struggle making connections and I feel I have no one to talk to. My psychologist has stopped practising which is really tough because I felt so comfortable with her. I just want to leave this world and be with Mum. Life is so hard.
