Welcome to the Forums. My name is FloatingFeather and I am one of the peer support workers at SANE. It is great to have you here!

You really sound like you have had some tough challenges through your life but how amazing that you are managing you mental healthy the way you are.

Big congrats to you around your sobriety as well - 21 years is a fantastic achievement. I hope you are proud of yourself because you really should be.

It's great that you want to share your lived experiences and your wisdom around living a contented, fulfilling life regardless of a mental illness diagnosis. Stories like yours are really powerful, and can particularly helpful for those struggling with their own journeys.

Hope everyone is well, I have been on forums before under a different name. I wasn't going to return but some of my support team has dropped out so I'm back. Not going to reveal the name I used to be under. For those of who I used to talk to regularly (not mentioning who) if you come to realise what my old name was please keep it to yourself. I hope you are well been going through catching up on things since I left, sorry to hear you lost your house. I'm glad some of the ogs like you and @greenpea are still around. You and greenpea were the first to talk to me last time I was here on forums.

I'm ok @Shaz51 just disappointed that after all the hoops my dr and I jumped through to get support from ndis and bluecare they both pulled out last minute saying I should get on the disability pension first. I've been trying to do that half my life and constantly get declined with intense mental health diagnoses while my mother got it for just anxiety 🙃.  Anyway we are going to try the process again starting with a full psych analysis in three weeks so I don't know maybe 16th time's the charm and centrelink might let me utilise their services like they should have when I was 15 and first diagnosed.

Have to show that it is going to get worse in the next 2 years

It was had to have evidence that it would not improve in 2years is what we get told and between psych, Dr and hospital letters/reports I had heaps of that but still got knocked back. And they never tell me why they declined/reject it. Even when I ask. 

And with multiple downward spirals the last few months, the inability to find medication that works and the loss of what would have been really good support my dr and psych are surprised I function enough to take care of myself let alone my son.
