Re: Tabaluga's

No beers yet @TAB  lol

Re: Tabaluga's

@TAB good choice. The only shares my mum has is Telstra...and that was because she and I both worked for the company. I was offered shares but didn't take up the offer. No loss ha ha!

I did have shares and when they were taken over by a bank, I was offered the option of cashing out or transferring them to the bank shares. I chose to cash out as I had only paid $4.00 for the shares in 1987. I think I got just under $8000. The shares are worth just under $5 today so not sure whether I did the right thing or not!

Mum studied economics back in the 70's and her lecturer told the class that if other businesses operated the way banks do they'd face government action due to their dodgy dealings. I have a particular dislike for [a certain bank] as they screwed up my mortgage and gave me a bad credit rating. I should have contacted the ombudsman but I was just glad to be rid of them.

I'll be mortgage free in about 2 months, it will be a great weight off me, especially when not working.

Re: Tabaluga's

thats alright re no mortgage in 2 mths @ENKELI  went to PO someone said tyre looks bit flat.was on rim, thought car was handling sh!t, didnt stop to look, thought what is this, the 80s ? so i destroyed the tyre driving at least 60ks flat. wondered how one side bald and got wire coming out and other side looks heaps tread ha ha

had like 7 goes at changing tyre. cheap jacks eith cant get under car or cant lift high enough or both. then it started raining. nearly rang RAA (RAC) thought hang on still got original jack. did the job. rang tyre place they confused me w tyre profiles and wanting $174 for 1 ordinary tyre. going to have to chance it w no spare doing 400+ k's tomorrow, ha, done nullabor w flat spare many times and not known til needed it lol  @StuF  just trying to get my breath now.still have to decide  on wardrobe for interview. looking like short sleeve shirt in 15 deg lol, not too many options, grown out of most things

Re: Tabaluga's

check tyre pressure the other week @StuF  tyre that I destroyed was low, valve stem didnt look like in right , car started steering like shopping trolley worse that  b4 checked tyres. told myself tyres ok I checked, something broken ha ha  oh I would have seen tyre in carpark today , came from that side, noticed nothing. maybe happened on way home

Re: Tabaluga's

Hmmm @TAB ,

Glad you're ok anyway!

Re: Tabaluga's

@TAB oh bugger! I didn't realise my front tyres were not roadworthy until I called the RAC for a flat battery. It was an expensive call, new battery plus 2 new tyres. I'll send a prayer up for a safe journey for you tomorrow.

My job person sent me an opportunity for a part time job, said I was interested only if it paid well. Not worth the travel of an hour+ per day otherwise and diesel has gone up again in price here.

Good luck with interview, I hope it goes the way you want it to 😀
