How are you finding 'Empowered Women Empower Women' so far?

@rav3n I am loving it. It is helping me see that maybe even after everything I have gone through and lost, there is still hope for a happy life once I have dealt with and processed what I need to.

My Social Worker is one of the stories in this book, so I am looking forward to seeing what she did to heal and become the awesome therapist that she is. She was the only therapist who was able to lift the guilt and longing that I carried around for 21 years after my partner's death. So to me, she is my hero.

@rav3n Oh my, how one appointment can change my positive mindset.

I went to my financial counselling appointment yesterday, with the aim to apply for a Wyatt Grant to help with the cost of having most of my household belonging removed from storage and donated.

But after having to give the counsellor a brief run down of why I am where I am, she suggested that I look at emergency housing first, because I am currently living with my abuser, as I have nowhere else to go. I was also staying with my mum, but my niece has now taken over the room I was staying in. So I feel like I can't go back there for the moment. The counsellor advised not to get rid of my belongings until I have rang a place called Toward Home ACCESS and also the Domestic Violence people. My Dare to Dream workshop is being held at The Yellow Gate which have domestic violence housing and financial support, so I will make an appointment to see them and go from there. But now talking about it with someone, is bringing all the memories back.

She told me with the housing crisis as it is at the moment, on the public housing wait list, I could be waiting 10 years before being placed in a house. And BOOM, all the negative feeling are fighting their way back into my head and having a future to look forward to, no longer seems that possible, even if I can get mentally healthy, I have nowhere to live or for my daughter to come and stay. So what's the point?

I have an appointment with a place today, to sign up for a workshop called Shark Cage, is covers a few of the same things that my Dare to Dream workshops has, but because of my depression, I have missed a few sessions, so I thought it will help me with the sessions I missed. Especially on creating boundaries and not breaking them for anybody.

I then have an appointment with my GP, where I will obtain the report from the Psychiatrist I saw last week, so hopefully it covers what CentreLink need for my DSP appeal.

So for today, these are the only two achievements that I am hoping to complete. I might go to the cemetery to visit my partner's grave, it is coming up to the 22nd anniversary of his death at the end of the month, so he has been in my thoughts lately, plus I have some photo ideas for the scavenger hunt there. Lol

My brother bought this great tool for getting rid of gutter gunk, it works quite well. 

How are you settling into the A frame?

I purchased a new vacuum cleaner.

A Bissell upright $169.

My ex got the old one.

Best vacuum cleaner I’ve ever used. I’ve used a lot of vacuum cleaners. Dyson has got to be the worst.

I collect it tomorrow.

Next is a bed and mattress.

@ENKELI  gutters and roof are the most important part of the house.

So your bro made a wise choice to do whatever it takes to keep his gutters clean.

Water leaking through the roof causes so much damage and it is dangerous :skull_and_crossbones:

@Glisten I'm on my 2nd Bissell

 Ex friend took the first one. Prior to that I had a Samsung which was really good too. It was still working but my boofhead brother had damaged it and part of it was heard together with gaffa tape. I agree, Bissell cleaners are very good 👍

I need to buy a new vaccuum cleaner @Glisten and it will be a Bissell. I have a carpet duster from Bissell and its quite amazing. Got it for preparedness in case we have extended power outages. It picks up quite a lot off the floor.  My last vacuum cleaners were from K-mart - will never do that again.

@SmilingGecko there is nothing worse than poorly manufactured goods.

People don’t realise almost anything we use on a daily basis is a tool of some type.

Your home, for example, is a tool to keep you safe and sheltered from the elements.

@SmilingGecko I don’t think I have ever bought an appliance from K-mart. I can’t even buy sheets from them. Synthetics make me sweat 😰 

I might have bought thongs 🩴 out of desperation. But they felt slimy on my feet 🦶 and the colour rubbed off.

@SmilingGecko you have experienced shoppers’ remorse from shopping at K-mart?
