Hey @Losingmyshiz I'm sorry I missed your message from a couple weeks ago - how you travelling now? Can imagine it's super frustrating to be treated crappy. Do they know you've got ADHD? I have heard it is still pretty stigmatised in the medical field, has that been your experience?
Here to listen if you want to chat.

@Jynx so @Blackbird11 mentioned
Alexithymia in a different thread. I had to Google it and this came up.

I’ thought I had seen all the overlap symptoms in relation to ADHD - I was wrong.

Yeah wild how many things have overlap with ADHD @Glisten! I think I have Alexithymia, but only mildly. Also recently discovered I have like 90% of the signs/symptoms of dysgraphia, that was a rollercoaster of discovery!

@Shaz51 I find it absolutely fascinating! I was listening to two different podcasts on the brain 🧠 a both said the psychology, neurobiology and psychiatry will become not blended, but working together more as team.
Wish I was younger I would have loved to pursue psychology/neurobiology.

This site is all about how it feels to have ADHD, and how to write your new life story:

Hi 👋🏼 @Newstory Thanks for sharing. I have ADHD, so does my entire family. I am very much aware of how it feels.
Did the website you shared help you?

Thanks Glisten for asking. I came up with the site http://www.yournewstory.org while I was an inpatient at the Ramsay psych Clinic here in Cairns. I did so because I met so many other ADHD diagnosed adults in there, and got so much out of comparing notes with them, giving and receiving support - it was lovely.
I was particularly struck by some pearls of wisdom, and started writing them down. Just little things like that tip about taking your Dexamphetamine meds as soon as you wake up, so that the meds kick in by the time you're ready to get up - I found that to make such a positive difference. I was just about springing out of bed instead of getting up with a haunted doomed sort of feeling. So I resolved to put together some notes and upload them to a website, and invite others to contribute their tips, ideas, feelings, descriptions. The site is a bit skeletal at present but I hope other people will contribute or comment so we end up with a useful storehouse of information and perspectives that will be useful for adults with ADHD - whether diagnosed or not.
