 Hi @RiverSeal

Thank you.

I just added my post, as I'm needing some advice or input and thoughts from others who may be in a similar situation, plus I always feel better after I've gotten things off my chest and things have been awkward for a long time between me and my mother with her hardship Olympics and her making me jump through hoops just to be acknowledged not as her daughter but a human.

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here πŸ™‚

Whenever I asked him to seek medication or counselling, he refused it. He knows his mental condition but is reluctant to see a medical practitioner due to its effect.
Recently, he doesn't want to work, only doing his study, and he is thinking of leaving Australia for humanity's purposes. We have marriage counselling that hopefully will open his mind to seek help.

Hi @Bism363

I just wanted to reach out to welcome you to the forums - it’s great to have you here πŸ’œ

I’m so sorry to hear about some of the things that have been happening for you and just from what you’ve shared, your situation sounds incredibly difficult and frustrating. I think that it’s great that you’ll both be participating in marriage counselling and I really hope that this will help to create a way forward.

In addition to the β€˜lived experience’ section of the forums (where we are now 😊) we also have a section of our forums that’s been created especially to support people who are caring for a loved one who is living with a mental health condition πŸ’œ

I just wondered if reaching out here may also be helpful for you and as such, I’ve just shared the link to this particular section of the forums below - just in case you would like to take a look πŸ˜Š

Also, just while I remember, one of the things that really helped me when I was new to the forums and still finding my way around, was that if you would like to chat with another forum member, or reply to one of their posts, place @ in front of their username just like I did at the start of my post to you i.e. @Bism363 that way, they will receive a message that you have contacted them πŸ˜Š

I look forward to seeing you around the forums πŸ˜Š

Take care,

Hi @calmsoul

It’s so lovely to hear from you πŸ’œ

That’s so great that your brain is better! Sometimes keeping our minds busy can be really helpful πŸ’œ

Thank you so much πŸ’œ Although the end product was a little bit higgledy piggledy, I think that my teddy bear still really appreciated it πŸ€£

Shawls are so versatile! A few years ago, one of our community members created a thread all about knitting πŸ˜Š I wasn’t too sure if this is something that may be of interest to you and so I’ve just shared the link to this particular thread below - just in case you would like to take a look πŸ˜Š

I hope that the week ahead is kind to you πŸ’œ

Take care,

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here πŸ™‚

@ShiningStar

Oh wow, thank you for the link

I shall have a squiz.

I'm going well, but Friday was not a good day.

I made a complaint to the Healthcare Commission about an incident that occurred with my GP.  I started crying on the phone to the lady from HCC. These folks have bluntly lied!

It's an awful feeling when people gaslight you. I know what happened, I know what was said, yet they have constructed this whole fabricated story.

I cried. I can't prove it as there's no physical evidence.

Then I went to my new GP later that day.

I found a bone spur and my Chriopractor said get a referral to get an x-ray. This GP wouldn't give me a referral !! Telling me bone spurs don't cause pain etc etc. I sat there and cried again.

I have ongoing pain. I have a 21mm torn tendon in my hip

I have sore a shin bone

I have pain behind my knee etc etc.  He knows all this, yet told me, what will an x-ray prove? That I'm only then going to concentrate on that?

My goodness.

We don't think this stuff can happen. But it does.

I'm ok though.

I know the truth and I will not let any of them distort my reality.

But when people  do this sort of stuff and lie etc.

You sure as hell question your own memory, perception and reality, because you then start wondering if you've made the mistake etc

It's an awful experience.

But I be ok 😎

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here πŸ™‚

Hello All!

Newcomer here, recently diagnosed and looking to support my recovery amongst a community of like minded people.

Fun fact about me, I've been waking up at 4am every morning for the last few weeks and cleaning the house. It's spotless before my wife gets up and she's very happy haha!

Feel free to say hi, I'm hoping to find services if anyone knows that are like a group talking therapy in person in the Western Sydney area.

Otherwise, pleasure to meet you all!
