Re: Tabaluga's

All pretty good thanks @greenpea

Instead of brushing you off again, I'll give you the short version - once a month I get an infusion. Of an intravenous immunoglobulin. Basically boosts my immunity to reduce the instance and severity of infections. I get this after a stem cell transplant I had in 2003 to treat non-Hodgkin lymphoma (a cancer of the lymphatic system). I've not been getting the "IVIG" for the whole time, just intermittently. But I've been getting it regularly for the last year or so (?)...

Anyway, that all sounds kinda big, but I'm ok, really. I don't like to talk about it much because I feel like I'm seeking attention or something. So I probably shouldn't mention the treatment at all, but I like to be pretty open on the forums within reason.

Re: Tabaluga's

lol @StuF  seriously though, thats a bit breath taking how you can seem to take it all in your stride, go to footy, train trips etc , beers, work, mates . good on you

Re: Tabaluga's

Sorry @greenpea

I didn't like not sharing. Certainly didn't mean to deceive. I guess I just rationalise to myself that most of the cancer related issues I have are in the past now

Re: Tabaluga's

@StuF   i do feel hurt that you felt you couldnt share with me.  which makes me feel bad cause you are the person who has gone through so much and have come out the other side.   you are a pretty amazing guy.  a good friend.

Re: Tabaluga's

Cheers @TAB

What has helped Massively and that I'm very fortunate to have is the support of some great family, friends, medical types...so many people don't have those things

But also, I don't really take it all in my stride - most nights I go to bed and wonder if I'm gonna have to do it all again tomorrow! lol

(But the beers and stuff do help!!! lololol)

Re: Tabaluga's

@StuF hey StuF, you show great courage and strength. Thank you for always being caring, insightful and kind. Life is not easy. Glad we walk together

Re: Tabaluga's

Oh @greenpea

Apologies for the hurt. I guess it's also quite weird being that open in such an open forum. Even anonymously.

I would dispute the amazing, but cherish the friendship 🙂
