Yes thanks @TAB I forgot about Aldi, we used to have an IGA but the shop folded. We do have an independent grocer that sells all kinds of stuff too. Thats doable. Will go out next week if the weather isnt too hot. Aldi is accessible via public transport. The bus stop is a few minutes away from Aldi in the same precinct as Woolies. Its in the suburb next door to mine so will go to Mr Aldi and check out what hes got. Thanks for reminding me.

@TAB I don't like what Woolies has done. Excellent PR and billion dollar profits yet treating workers like automatons and not paying them a liveable wage. They don't pay the farmers either. I just checked Aldi and going by past catalogues they have pecans. They might also have figs for a slaw salad side. Anyway its back to Mr Aldi. I've read the quality of what they sell varies too. There have been some annoyed customers on their facebook site in years gone by. People are now getting really vocal and aren't shy about letting everyone else know the product standards at Aldi

its just pure greed @Former-Member not as if arent making billions already.
read interesting article yest on death of manufacturing in the US
one point was management culture eg not being in steel making business, we are in ' money making business' so get left behind when new processes developed in europe after the war. cos would not update 100 year old technology. solution? send factory to china lol. some famous boss in US said 20% of workers make all the profit (prob claim credit for it) and the rest dead weight one way or another, so at end of year, either get promoted or get sacked lol
i worked for US company briefly like 10 years ago. morning talk every morning without fail some hugely fat American threatening people with the sack, over and over again, day in day out, so no one listens, so they started stating numbers sacked and when and why lol
