Re: Share a cuppa?

Even though it’s a school night 2/3 of them are under the aircon on a mattress in our lounge room… @tyme having a kiddy sleep over to escape the heat

I can kinda understand that

Ah, that makes so much sense @ArraDreaming . It's like his lunch is his only 'constant'. I'm sorry he's still struggling. I know you mentioned he has supports in place like working in the garden, but I can see how stressed he must feel at school.

Re: Share a cuppa?

@tyme I won’t share too much in a public space but we have not had a great start to the school year… and ironically the inclusion person has moved on this year and they are looking for a replacement still, that’s been upsetting I think because he liked the other person

Re: Share a cuppa?

Oh noooo @ArraDreaming . What a shame!

I wonder if they have enough documentation to submit it for what they need. I'm sorry you have been caught in the limbo.

Does your son connect with anyone else at the school? It's like as soon as he reached out to connect with someone, the person left. I know for adults, that may act as evidence why we shouldn't connect with people in the first place.

It must be hard on both you and him.

Hugs to the poor fella.

Re: Share a cuppa?

The lightening is like the lights turning on and off outside… big sheet lightening kids won’t go to sleep they can hear the wind which is just blowing the rain straight inside through the windows we have open for a breeze
I don’t get scared of storms but I’m a little bit nervous it’s pretty gnarly out there….
What if a tree hits our house? @tyme

Re: Share a cuppa?

I know, but he’s only young and when they told us about it they essentially said important that we look at what that kind of help can provide as opposed to the person themselves but he’s only young of course he’s going to build a connection to the person not the role @tyme I didn’t get that from them, I was a bit disappointed with how flippant they were about all of it to be honest 😬
They told us while we were walking him in on the first day and he asked about where Mr x was and they said he has gone to a different school
😳😳😳😳
Well, that was not a great start @tyme
I don’t think they have enough evidence

Re: Share a cuppa?

On my side, we had a few (literally a few) drops of ant rain @ArraDreaming . And there's a bit of lightning, but not as bad as your side it sounds.

Do you have may trees directly around your house?

As for your son, I'm sorry it happened that way. Once again, we don't know the circumstance to this teacher leaving, but I can see it affected your son. As for the comment about looking at the support as opposed to the person, that doesn't make sense to me. We are social creatures and unless we connect with people, it doesn't matter if you have the same support as the queen/king, it's not going to make a difference to the person (let alone a kid). Unless I'm not getting this right.

Re: Share a cuppa?

We don’t have a lot but there is on right near our bedroom window….
I said to Mrs j that maybe we should sleep out with the kids tonight but it’s too hard to move another mattress
You know what it feels like??
it’s going to be one of those scenarios where you don’t sleep in a room and tree falls on the room and you think wow… I’m so glad I changed my mind at last minute @tyme

Re: Share a cuppa?

“Man narrowly escapes death after tree fell on bed he decided not to sleep in”

Re: Share a cuppa?

Do what your gut tells you @ArraDreaming .
