I always think of those sorts of occasions as chance to have a bit of a holiday, do some reading, watch some movies, concerts and opera on my phone, eat good food, have coffee and tea, all with my cats beside me. You may feel too much pain to enjoy this period, but I hope the painkillers are making you comfortable so you can enjoy that.
