Re: Share a cuppa?

Please know that you feeling sad is perfectly acceptable @ArraDreaming . It is not a weird thing. I guess floods seem far removed from me, but today someone showed me a photo of a restaurant I've been to a number of times. It is completely submerged bar the roof. Then the realisation hit. It's so close to home.

If it is really upsetting you, maybe it's not such a good idea to watch the locations becoming red alerts....

I'm glad you were able to spend some time out today.

Re: Share a cuppa?

Hi @Paulette I understand re work. Have worked in child protection and victim support in a court environment.

As a social worker ( primary profession ) I understand law enforcement culture and the difficulties involved.

In regard to our bodies I also think it is really important to focus on something positive, that we like ie. In your case your amazing new hair.

What is a kettle for abdominal work out ? Excuse my ignorance.

ATM I am just working in retail to pay the bills while I recover - have CPTSD and had a really bad year last year coupled with depression this year....

Re: Share a cuppa?

Good stuff @tyme 😊😊.

Re: Share a cuppa?

Floods are far removed for me too @tyme never something that ever crossed my mind, where we are is safe.

it’s hard but also knowing that everyone we were worried about is now on higher ground is reassuring, life is more important than possessions.

I turned the notifications off both our phones. Just trying to be as supportive as I can. I could do with one of your cuppas though

Re: Share a cuppa?

I went out for brekky with my friends but I was late so I had to order from the lunch menu @Former-Member

I finished an assignment, sent it off then went for a walk.

S1 cooked hamburgers for dinner and I’m off to bed soon as I’m exhausted.

Re: Share a cuppa?

Thanks @tyme

@needed that one, tired tonight

Re: Share a cuppa?

Hey @Eve7 ! At least it wasn't $70 fish and chips for dinner!

Re: Share a cuppa?

Hi @Former-Member ,

Thankyou for sharing your profession. Social Workers do amazing things, it is a very caring profession. I do feel your suffering. I take life a day at a time. Kettle weight is one you gently lift to help strengthen abs and upper body. I continue to work on repairing my self esteem which was destroyed last year. I have to ignore the incredibly cruel things said to me and about me. My privacy and dignity will never return.  I have nightmares still. I wake up after dreams of hugging my beautiful children and knowing this will never be what we used to have. That's gone now and accepting I'll never have the love we had for each other back again. My life has been turned inside out upside down and generally been such a struggle but regardless of what anyone else thinks of me, I need to go on for my children. Sorry don't want to upset anyone but if I didn't have a private and supportive place to talk about this.....
