Re: Share a cuppa?

We just went for a little drive and there is a picnic spot nearby so we sat there and then went and looked at all the water coming up onto the walking track, they didn’t get wet but our oldest has some weird obsession with ducks at the moment so he was asking me if the ducks will get to our house if the river gets really high, i think he would like that to happen @Shaz51

Re: Share a cuppa?

Ohhh @ArraDreaming , @Former-Member , you are making me feel old 🤣😂

Re: Share a cuppa?

It’s pretty cool hey, we’re lucky, technology can be great when it’s used right. I enjoy connecting with some of my family up north an opportunity I didn’t have until recently when they got a phone tower put in, they had nothing there until a couple years ago @Former-Member

Re: Share a cuppa?

Well @ArraDreaming , internet didn't exist when I was a kid!

Then we had dial-up modems... never want to go back there!

Oh, and corded phones attached to the wall. LOL

@Shaz51 ...I feel old too!

Re: Share a cuppa?

Oh shaz, it’s ok I got called old yesterday, I have had a bad back since an accident in my bike 2021, yesterday walking out of kinder with my 4 nearly 5 year old, he asks me to carry him, I said no my back hurts you can walk and also I am also carrying the baby already, and he says “ohh man that is what old people always say” @Shaz51

Re: Share a cuppa?

Northern Territory? Australia is huge and so much of it away from city centers and things like towers. I went to Spain once ad was stunned at how overpopulated it seemed, then I realised Australia was the anomaly 🤣

Re: Share a cuppa?

My first memory of the internet @tyme was when I was about 11 using ask Jeeves (this was pre google) on a school box looking computer in the library, we didn’t have a computer at home but if I went to friends houses they had to have the computer off so their parents could use the phone

Re: Share a cuppa?

Yeah @Former-Member It’s cool being able to speak with them so easily now

Re: Share a cuppa?

Oh the sound of the dial up @tyme and @Shaz51 !!!

@ArraDreaming  I recommend YouTubing it and having a listen, it'll make you appreciate your modern conveniences ha ha
