Re: Our coping toolbox 🧰

I’ve never thought of self care in ways mentioned here.

haven’t got to the stage of categoring them.

Things I do for self care without realising it’s ‘self care’ lol

- spending time with my cats

- playing games on my iPad. I’ve got couple time wasters I like plus some word games

- online colouring. I also have colouring books and pencils which haven’t used for long time.
- knitting, diamond art and cross stitch

- going for drives, especially through country areas

- sitting looking out over the bay

- jigsaws

Re: Our coping toolbox 🧰

Hey @Shaz51 ,

Hope you are okay and coping using your Coping Toolbox. It seems like we haven't seen you in a while. Busy with your grand daughter?

Re: Our coping toolbox 🧰

Thank you for tagging me, @Shaz51. First post in the forums for me! ðŸ˜Ž

In terms of healthy coping, I just went for a walk in the sun with my dogs and my fiancé. I'm going to check out @Oaktree's meditation recommendation now.

Re: Our coping toolbox 🧰

@Oaktree, I just listened to the meditation you kindly shared. Thank you! I found it calming and pleasurable.

Here are links to some meditations and exercises I practise regularly:

Self-Compassion Guided Practices and Exercises by Kristin Neff

(The first exercise on the page, Exercise 1: How would you treat a friend?, walks you through trying to treat yourself like you would a good friend, a tip I mentioned in the chat last night.)

Mindful Self-Compassion Meditations by Chris Germer

Guided Meditations by Tara Brach

Guided Practices from The Compassionate Mind Foundation

Perhaps someone reading will find some of these practices helpful. ðŸ˜Š
