Looking after ourselves

Diagnosis are important!!

Hello everyone!!

After opening up about my diagnoses from this morning. I am happy to open up about further information about myself.

As the title says "Diagnosis are important!" What do I mean about this? Let's go to my diagnoses High Functioning Autism, ADHD, Bipolar, Borderline Personality, Schizophrenia and Complex PTSD. I am in remission for Anorexia, Bulimia and Psychosis.

.

Learning how to recover from disorders and addiction is difficult. I have to go with DBT or Dialectical Behavioural Therapy because this treatment treats the most complex of mental health issues.

Multiple diagnosis are different to treat for each one. Seek out a psychiatrist who specialises in different disorders.

Also to do forums and reading the information on websites. Each journey is different and challenging and seeking treatment doesn't mean that your a bad person. It just means you need help because your unwell.

The journey of discovery involves daring to try something different and new.

I agree! I have been diagnosed ADHD in the last 6 months and that has helped so mucb with direction with managing my actuons, thoughts feelings. I do believe I also have ASD and borderline personality but currently keep getting overlooked as treatment resistant depression. That may be the case, it just feels like its easier for for psychiatrist to diagnose that. I did score 42 on the DES-ll so I dont feel like in expecting an inrealistic outcome.
i just feel like i am missing a piece of the puzzle that i need to see the whole picture and get my specific direction for managing my thoughts, feelings and actions.
