Re: Ask Anything Monday!

@mrkotter

This is a good book on DID, I highly recommend it - The dissociative identity disorder sourcebook by D B Haddock.  This is a preview, but you can read a fair bit online on google books.

Hi everyone - Happy Monday!

Thanks to @Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member @utopia @Former-Member @1stepup61 @Shaz51 @Robertmelbourne @JackJane @mrkotter @BlueBay for your recent posts. Interesting discussion!

This week's question is:

Sometimes when I'm unwell I tend to overshare or vent on facebook. I get over sharing shame and because facebook is so public, it's hard to discreetly remove my posts without anyone knowing.

I don't want to delete my account - and even every time this happens I promise myself not to do it again, I do. I always justify it to myself when I'm in the moment.

Does anyone have any strategies to manage themselves and social media when they are unewll?

Re: Ask Anything Monday!

I vent here- it's great. Supportive, understanding group of individuals I never have to face. It's perfect.
PS thank you to everyone for being so supportive when I vent!

Re: Ask Anything Monday!

Same as @Former-Member, I don't use my Facebook account anymore, people don't understand the fluctuation in mood and the difficulties. I just kept Facebook because "people have it". I do look at it from time to time and "like something" but very rarely post.
I feel much more comfortable here.

This is such a great question!

When I'm manic I tend to say a lot of stuff that either is a bit weird or oversharing or just too much. Depressed I get paranoid and start judging people that don't deserve it.

In my early twenties I actually deleted my fb for a year because of this. Got back on because it was a bit weird to not be on it.

When I'm not feeling well I tend to try to avoid facebook. I actually don't know my password so if I need a break I just sign out - I need to recover my password to sign in again. Maybe that could help?

Re: Ask Anything Monday!

I have been on facebook for not very long.  I have noticed that when i am on facebook and look around i get really annoyed and a bit jealous of what others are doing.  I hate looking at what others do.

it can be really upsetting to watch what others are doing.
