As for 'kid duty' - good luck. My brother-in-law is always on putting-kids-to-sleep duty and throughout-night duty. This is mainly because the youngest is getting weaned and knows that dad can't give her breastmilk!
We used to split, take one kid each but then logic came into play (which you don’t have much logic going on in your brain with a newborn and toddler) and we realised it probably makes more sense to have one tired adult the next day rather that 2. My partner works full time and I work only a few days (but I am home which is like work) so we just do whatever works at the time. Youngest isn’t generally an issue it’s the older one who isn’t in a baby sleeping jail anymore and just gets up whenever he wants. found him in the lounge at 2am once @tyme@Shaz51 we have our work cut out for us with that kid
