Good morning and good afternoon @Former-Member @StuF @SmilingGecko @TAB @Former-Member @MDT @Shaz51 @Former-Member @Snowie @maddison @Eve7 @EternalFlower @Appleblossom @Faith-and-Hope @Meowmy @greenpea @Captain24 @Former-Member @hanami @Paperdaisy @tyme and forumites here. I hope your Saturday is going well.
I’ve had a day of cleaning up my room again and doing some knitting of a blanket for charity. I’m now watching Alex De Minaur playing tennis on TV in the Australian Open to relax. I did some research last night on depression- I think I’m slowly slipping back into that phase again- and I found some information on routines and how that can help with the condition which I thought was very interesting. I’m thinking that I may need to implement a routine of doing certain things each day in order to help my mental health and to actually make me feel productive as I’m certainly not very productive right now. I’m hoping that this is something I can work on - PARCS would be ideal for this - so I’m going to put in a request for this on Tuesday afternoon. Hopefully I get this as I really need to reset my life and be strong so I can complete my mental health course this year. That’s the idea and plan at least.
Take care!

G'day @Judi9877
Sounds like you're very self aware and are formulating a plan to arrest things before they get out of hand.
I wish you all the best with these endeavours 🙂
And it is great that you still have your overall goal to complete your course!

Hello @Judi9877 routine is your friend. In chinese medicine they say that mental illness responds to routine. I've been following in chinese medicine what is called the chi-cycle and its a way of honoring your bodyclock. Jost Sauer who is a traditional chinese medical doctor wrote an easy to read book on it called "The Perfect Day Plan" Its a book on healthful routine. He originally wrote it as a success manual but either way people raved about the book when it came out because it changed lives for the better. It makes you intrinsically happy and effortlessly more productive. It is easy to implement straight away and its not rocket science. You will be rewarded with greater sense of wellbeing and happiness. I've been living this way for years and can say the chi-cycle will change your life for the better. Its the only routine I can stick to because it works!

Hey @Judi9877
Finding what works for each of individually seems to be key. Your knitting works for you and helps others. Routines can help develop Behavioural Habits and healthier living. Mental routines help with different associations and different cognitive habits. In the past I had a daily schedule down to the half hour. For a while I tried a daily schedule but found that too restrictive for myself, after years of so much "discipline" so I stick with directions, learning to relax and do not watch the clock too closely.
