I use Bible gateway a fair bit @Dimity . Sometimes, I have verses in my head, but I don't know the reference.

@tyme I went to a church twice last week, so I am giving myself Sunday off as I am playing in a soirΓ©e. I have 2 different rehearsals tomorrow, so a busy weekend. I ran into a lady at the supermarket, who I know more through music, and we touched briefly on the state of various churches. I feel fortunate to have fluid overlaps between popular, classical and sacred music, in and out of liturgical settings.
@Captain24 yes I know the Catholic style, but not returning, and interested in all things that bring out the best in people, however I will always be grateful for the many good things I learned. Progressive Catholic mysticism is pretty key for me.
@AuntGlow @AuntGlow @Dimity @Shaz51 @ENKELI @avant-garde I wouldnβt really call myself a practicing Christian, though I am a regular church musician. I think I am even finally getting some respect, Eg at last choir rehearsal, I guess we all find our own paths to meaning. I care about it, and am committed to service, but pretty wary of labels I guess. Still a bit of a radicalβ¦ lolβ¦ though my music preferences seem conservative, lol.

I had 3 bibles, including King James and my old one from Catholic school. I bought a newer inclusive language bible, and gave it to a minister in the Uniting church as I thought he would use it more than me.
I did an essay at uni, once comparing 4 translations of the Song of Songs. It gave me a deep appreciation of the way different translations and interpretations matter.

Wow @Appleblossom .
I was going to study a christian studies unit when I was at uni, but I never did.
I have so many KJVs. I have over 100 in my garage so I can hand them out to people who want one.

The beauty for me, was it was in a secular uni, part of a unit in literature. There were choices in the assessment, and it is one of my essays I actually remember. lol. @tyme I kind of went full circle from science. Then later after graduation and a couple months after my brother died, I started a a Bachelor in church music, but I couldnβt finish it. Family came first. Still it opened a pathwayβ¦ which I guess I am still on 30 years laterβ¦.

@Shaz51 hi my Shazzy, π« how are you? Do you and Mr Shaz have plans this weekend or a nice quiet one?
I am hoping to go to Bunnings and catch up with one of my friends. She had her birthday back on the 21st and I still have to get her present to her. She lives 5 minutes away from me, I have been slack!
Blessings to you lovely π
