Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

Hi @Mustang67 those medications can be more bother than good sometimes. My aunt had a terrible time coming off them, but for some it is needed. Have you looked into therapy, it’s really helpful and originally the meds were until you had enough therapy…then somehow they just left people on them until the whole body depends on them. It’s criminal IMO. But I’m glad you have things you love and dips, emotional dips are pretty normal especially this time of year. It’s real though…and I don’t mean to minimise your experience just saying its great to see you feeling joy for coins again. And remember, every day has a new dawn and brings a new day with new hopefully exciting thugs in store.

I like those copper coins - lovely set. And tots the 0.5 gram coins are tiny. Keep any eye out for any cheep coins around $50-$60 as that’s roughly the spot price of .5 of a gram which, depending on the quality is about $80 14k -110 per gram 24k.

The coins I found were just the gold price because the mint is a little questionable? But coins of the world is a great concept and I quite liked the designs so given the spot gold price I didn’t feel I could lose.

Pea sized and cute, but technically yeah, we’re owning some bullion : )

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

@Mustang67 I saw the shop CoinCollections had language of flowers sale for $75 each but sold out so worth keeping an eye out. I also like the peony one for 2024. I’d love to save for this collection : ) so beautiful. Thank you for sharing : ))

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

Hey @Mustang67

ugh it is frustrating with how expensive it is!! but you're right, if the generic ones aren't working out for you, switching back to the more expensive ones is definitely worth it. also just wanted to let you know i've removed the dosages from your post so it meets our limited detailed descriptions guidelines.

i can see how much this has impacted you, and i can relate to not wanting to go on social media when i'm feeling numb too. but it's really great you were able to reach out later and get some from the lady yay!

i know it can feel scary but it is okay to feel like stepping away from things you love doing when you're going through a rough patch. you can always come back to it later, taking a break when you don't have the capacity for it is important too. but just don't give up on it entirely! you will feel better again after those low periods, and it's great that coin collecting is always there whenever you're ready to jump back in.
fingers crossed everything goes well with the meds, it's really lovely seeing you post about the coins again 💜

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

@rav3n thank you for your response.

I am glad that I have you here, to look over what I post. Even though I read the guide lines, my memory doesn't retain a lot. I find unless it gives me a really good or really bad experience, I have a lot of trouble remembering things. Much to my ex's disgust. I swear he doesn't  believe that I can't remember things. But to tell you the truth, I no longer care if he believes me or not.

My older sisters hold most of my childhood memories. And they do reminding me from time to time.

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

no worries at all @Mustang67 and don't worry - i totally understand it can be hard to remember the guidelines sometimes, even i forget and have to re-read is at times.

the way we all remember things can be different sometimes, esp if traumatic experiences were involved in our lives. that's annoying that your ex didn't believe you, glad you're not bothered by it anymore!!

ohh its like your sisters are your childhood memory bank! are you close with your older sisters?

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

Thank you for your kind words @Harmonium .

I have been filling in my pricing spreadsheet nearly all day, for the Silver Bullion Coins that I am interested in purchasing.

I just came across a site that you can search to see if the bullion is fake or not, so I just had to come on here to share it with you, so you don't get caught out.

https://www.fakebullion.com/

I am looking at trying to collect the The Australian Koala Silver Bullion Coin Series 2007 - 2024. So far I have found out that 2014, 2015 & 2016 have fake coins out in the real world. Here is an example of one.

2014 $1 Australian Koala 1oz Silver Billion Proof Coin2014 $1 Australian Koala 1oz Silver Billion Proof Coin

But I have been feeling the bug to retrieve all of my circulating coins and accessories from my mum's place, so I can start going through them. But unfortunately when my niece took over the room I was sleeping in, She just plonked her belongings on top of my stuff. And because of my back issues, there is no way I can get to them. The ex has promised to go there soon and help me get what I need. And we now have a table that I can do some of my sorting and noodling on.

I remember back in 2002 when my partner died, I was given the script for the antidepressants, and the doctor said that if I have not come off them within 5 years, then it will be a life long medication.

Once I feel like i have all my mental ducks in a row and I am feeling good, then I will think about coming off them. They are causing me to taken even more medication because of the side effects. I can't win.

I hope you are well 🌻

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

It has been an on and off again type of relationship. But since Dad dying last year, it has definitely brought us closer together.

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

It's a shame that they have fake coins out there @Mustang67 I guess they keep making them because people keep buying them thinking they are real.

I guess like anything you have to do research first before you buy any coins.

I hope you are able to get all that you need from your mums place soon.

I remember when I went on my meds for depression. Always said I'd go on them for a short while. Years later and I'm still taking them, plus more. I hope in time that you are able to come of them.

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

It would be nice to be able to stop taking them. I already have issues with my liver, so getting off them would help.
